Inn From The Cold
On the last Monday of every month Ascension receives and provides the dinner meal, sleeping accommodations,  breakfast and a bag lunch for fourteen homeless persons (including families).Volunteers are involved in all of the tasks listed above as well as the sleep over. Volunteers include members and nonmembers of the congregation.Any persons are welcome to take part in the various teams for set up, making and serving the meals and clean up.
NeighborLlink
Ascension belongs to a group of congregations who provide assistance to those who are in need. NeighborLink volunteers often pick up and deliver hampers to designated persons and families.
Servants For Worship Services and Property Upkeep
There are opportunities to serve as Worship and Communion Assistants, Lectors (readers), Ushers, Greeters, Members of the Altar Guild and Singers and Cantors for the three weekend worship services
Property Upkeep
There are always opportunities to serve in the maintenance of the buildings, grounds and landscaping.
Fanning Center
Ascension provides a worship service at the Fanning Center in the morning of the first Tuesday of the month. Volunteers gather patients together in the chapel, assist in the worship service and return them to their rooms.
Lutheran Hospital Ministries
Opportunities for training in and visitation on behalf of the congregations of the Lutheran Churches to the hospitals in the city is a wonderful opportunity for service.
Youth Program
Ascension has embarked on a cooperative program with three other Northeast Calgary Lutheran Churches to provide a substantive program of education, worship, witness, stewardship and service for youth. Volunteers are welcome.
Committees
There are numerous opportunities to serve on a host of committees established by the Church Council.
Teachers
Volunteers teach in Sunday School, in adult classes and in the catechetical program.
